Program Partners
In partnership with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) The Governor's Energy Office (GEO) establishes partnerships with cities, counties, utilities and non-profit organizations to implement its ENERGY STAR New Homes Program. Program Partners receive a matching grant from the GEO to manage the program at the local level.
The GEO provides Program Partners with implementation guidelines, marketing resources, training opportunities for homebuilders, program tracking tools, local program and homebuilder recognition, as well as both state and federal program support and resources. Program Support
Program Partners receive the following support from the GEO:
- Overall program management and tracking tools
- Assistance increasing regional homebuilder participation
- Resources to develop regional HERS Raters
- Training on energy efficient construction practices for participating homebuilders
- Creation of regional homebuilder ENERGY STAR marketing and advertising groups
- Energy efficient resources and training support for area real estate professionals
What Can You Do?
Your organization can join the more than 120 Colorado local governments, community organizations, utilities, homebuilder associations, homebuilders and Home Energy Raters now supporting the ENERGY STAR New Homes Program. The GEO is continuously looking for additional opportunities to engage local communities to develop and promote ENERGY STAR New Homes. This is the label that identifies a home as having earned the ENERGY STAR. The easy way to make sure a new home is energy efficient is to look for the blue ENERGY STAR label, the government-backed symbol for energy efficiency.Upcoming Events
